Reference Number 0000351605 The Eastern Hillcrest Bikeways project is constructing an approximate 1.1-mile of separated bikeways and buffered bike lanes along University Avenue from Ninth Avenue to Normal Street, and on Normal Street form University Avenue to Lincoln Avenue in the Hillcrest community in the City of San Diego. Improvements include a neighborhood traffic circle at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Centre Street; a pedestrian promenade and separated Class IV bikeway on the western half of Normal Street from University Avenue to Lincoln Avenue; reconfiguration of Normal Street from Lincoln Avenue to Washington Street; restriping on Lincoln Avenue, Herbert Street, Park Boulevard, and Robinson Avenue; and reconfiguration of the intersection of Park Boulevard and Robinson Street. Work of the bikeways improvements includes, but is not limited to, controlling of water pollution; traffic control; erosion control; clearing and grubbing; new curb and gutter, cross gutter, bus pad construction, bus benches, installation of new RRFBs, curb ramps, asphalt paving, storm drain installation, concrete driveway installation, traffic signal modifications, and signing and striping. Work of the pedestrian promenade improvements includes, but is not limited to, concrete sidewalk paving, curb ramps, integral colored concrete, concrete benches, concrete paver installation, decorative LithoMosaic paving, construction of decorative concrete steps, playground equipment installation, custom metal shade structures, fabric shade structures, light pole installation, string light installation, installation of new electrical conduits, storm drain installation, potable water main relocation, a new water service, a new sewer service lateral, installing new irrigation, landscape planting, tree grate installation, and installation of a stationary trolley car (provided by others). The work will also include the procurement of all materials and performing all other work necessary to complete the work in accordance with the project plans and specifications. For the SWPPP, this project is a Risk Level 2. There is no DBE goal for this project. The Engineer's Estimate is $18,151,023.00. This is subject to the Community Benefits Agreement (CBA).
