The City of Young Harris provides municipal water service to the Timberline Subdivision located off of Timberline Drive just outside the city limits. The 6-inch water line supplying Timberline Subdivision runs along U.S. Hwy 76 before turning and following Timberline Drive. The intersection of U.S. Hwy 76 and Timberline Drive is approximately 1,850 feet above sea level, and the water line runs up Timberline to an existing pump station (Pump Station No. 2) at an elevation of approximately 2,805 feet, and is pumped to an existing storage tank (Tank No. 1) at an elevation of approximately 2,425 feet. Work required under this project includes furnishing all materials, labor, equipment, etc. necessary to construct, install and connect a new booster pump station (Pump Station No. 1); to construct, install and connect a new intermediate water storage tank (Tank No. 2); and to make all connections necessary to allow water customers to utilize the water system. All work shall be completed in strict compliance with the engineered Site Development Plans. Interested Bidders can obtain a copy of the Site Development Plans by emailing the City Clerk, Nicolette Wade at nicolettewade@cityofyoungharris.net. Bids from corporations not chartered in Georgia must be accompanied by proper documentation that said corporation is authorized to do business in the State of Georgia. No Bidder may withdraw its Bid within ninety (90) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The winning bidder will be required to post a Performance and Payment Bond for this project, once selected. Envelopes containing the Bids must be sealed, addressed to the City of Young Harris and marked "TIMBERLINE PUMP STATION PROJECT The successful bidder shall begin the Work within 30 days of receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work required under this Contract within 240 days of receipt of such Notice but in no event shall the Work be completed later than July 31, 2024. The City may retain from the Contractor monies which may become due in the amount of FIVE-HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00) per day for each calendar day that the completion of the work may be delayed beyond the specified completion date. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive technicalities, and to make an award deemed in the City's best interests. Low bid does not guarantee award of the contract.
