In accordance with Drawings and Specifications prepared by Woodard & Curran, Inc., the Work includes furnishing of all labor, materials, tax, equipment, incidentals and services for the construction and completion of the Beach Force Main Rehabilitation Project. The Work includes but is not limited to: 1) demolition of select existing facilities; 2) modification of existing main street pump station wet well, and wet well roof slab; 3) civil/earthwork, including excavation and backfill for a new valve vault, flow meter vault and pump station yard piping; 4) implementing flow bypassing as necessary and installation of two dry weather flow pumps with wet well and pump station modifications; 5) rehabilitation of approximately 2200 feet of existing Beach Force Main; 5) electrical panel including VFDs for new pumps, and all electrical and instrumentation related to dry weather pump operations; 6) pavement resurfacing adjacent to existing Main Street Pump Station; 7) installation of new flow meter and vault at treatment plant; 8) connections to existing Beach Force Main; 9) protection of existing facilities; and appurtenant work as needed to construct a complete and operational project as specified in these Contract Documents. The Work shall be performed in accordance with the intent of the Contract Documents, excluding any work under separate contract or other arrangement. The Contractor is required to perform all civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation work as applicable and as shown on the Drawings and required in the Specifications, to interconnect new equipment with existing equipment to provide completely functioning systems. CERTIFICATES OF EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Due to the complexity and scope of this critically important project, the District requires minimum prior related successful project experience for General Contractors, General Contractors Project Manager and Electrical Subcontractors seeking to bid the Project. CONTRACT TIME: The Contract Time for the completion of all the Work of the Project is 300 (Three Hundred) calendar Days. BID SECURITY AND BONDS: Each Bid must also be accompanied by security in the form of a Bidders Bond issued by a corporate surety, a certified check, or cashier's check payable to the District, or cash for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the Total BidPrice. The successful Bidder shall be required to execute a Material and Labor Payment Bond and Performance Bond, issued by a corporate surety, in conformance with the requirements set forth in the Contract Documents, each for not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price. CONTRACTORS LICENSE CLASSIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS: Bidders and their proposed subcontractors shall hold such licenses as may be required by the laws of the State of California for the performance of the work specified in the Contract Documents. Bidders bidding as the prime Contractor shall possess a valid California Contractor's General Engineering License A at the time of contract award and throughout the contract term. The Contractor will also be required to ensure that all subcontractors working on this project are holding valid licenses suitable for their trade.
