Project Description: The City of Shelby is accepting bids on a sidewalk widening project that is located near 605 North Morgan Street in Shelby, North Carolina. The project consist of demolition of existing sidewalk and curb and gutter, and the installation of curb and gutter, sidewalk that will be doweled into existing concrete, foam joint sealer, and sidewalk repairs. Project Bonding: There will be no performance or bid bonds required for this project. Project Conditions: o Project will be a unit price bid in accordance with detailed plans and bid forms. Submitters must use the bid form provided. o The Bidders offer will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 45 days after submission. o Contractor must start project within 21 days of Notice to Proceed. The City will require contractors to complete the project within Thirty (30) consecutive days after mobilization. Weather days will be determined and assessed as needed. o Proof of valid contractor's license (if required based on bid amount) must be included by the bidder as part of the bid package. o The contract award will be based on the total project bid. o The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all offers, and award jobs individually based on the bids and available funds. o A $250 per day liquidated damages clause will be included in the contract. o Contractor acknowledges that project will carry a one (1) year warranty beginning at the end of the project. o Contractor will be responsible for cleaning up and disposing of all existing conditions and construction materials from the project site upon completion of the project. o Contractor shall coordinate project with City of Shelby Engineering Department. o Contractor shall follow ADA regulations, City of Shelby Standard Details, and NCDOT Standard Roadway Drawings. o Traffic and pedestrian control will be the responsibility of the contractor. o The contractor will be responsible for calling in utility locates. o This list is intended to provide the basic scope of work contractor shall field verify quantities prior to bid; any incidental work that is related to this project will be the sole responsibility of the Contractor.
