The Burke County Animal Services Building has reached its end of life. This facility currently provides working space for 8 FTEs and has only 16 dog kennels and 24 cat cages. A space planning document has been started and is currently under review by a consultant. The estimated needed square footage is approximately 15,000 square feet - and the estimated cost of the building is between $5-$5.5MM. A design/build procurement model is the recommended path forward. As of August 30, 2023, this project is included in Burke County's Fiscal year 2024-2028.
