Question Deadline 08/17/2023 at 4:00 PM ET Summary Repair of 202 exterior tube steel columns of the SORTA/METRO Queensgate Bus & Maintenance Garage located at 1401 Bank Street, Cincinnati OH 45214. The existing Tube Steel columns also serve as the door frames for the facilities 101 exterior overhead doors. The columns have varying degrees of rust damage at the bottom 12" +/- of each column from years of water and road salt exposure. The repairs vary from rust removal and painting, removing rust damage area above grade and pumping in non-shrink grout to concrete removal and temporary roof structure shoring support for replacement of rust damaged column steel down to the existing footer. All repairs are to be as per the project documents supplied by Elevar Design Group titled "Structural Column Repair" and dated 03/10/2023. The owner's Project Manager will be Brad Mook the Infrastructure & Capital Projects Manager, or as other assigned. 1.2. Background The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority ("SORTA") is a regional transit authority organized and operating under Section 306.30 et seq. of the Ohio Revised Code. As such, it is a political subdivision of the State of Ohio. SORTA provides both fixed-route mass transportation services and paratransit services. SORTA provides service to the city of Cincinnati, Hamilton County Ohio, and parts of Butler, Clermont, and Warren Counties. SORTA operates 46 fixed routes. SORTA provides both fixed-route mass transportation and paratransit services through approximately 300 city-type transit buses and 50 paratransit vehicles. Tasks Repair structural tube steel columns damaged by rust and deterioration at their bases. All columns are noted for 1 of 4 repair methods as outlined in the project documents. Two (2) adjacent travel lanes through the bus garage that are served by a shared overhead door will be shut down at one time, and the columns at both the East & West ends of the lanes will be repaired during this shut down prior to repeating this process until all columns are repaired. The lanes to be shut down will be coordinated with the ongoing overhead door replacement project requiring the lanes to be shut down out of numeric sequence. SORTA Project Manager will determine the order of column repairs so as not to impede the owners' normal activities. Notify the owner's Project Manager when the 1st of each method of column repair, as noted in the Project Documents, has been completed so it can be inspected for adherence to the Project Documents prior to proceeding.
