This project will consist of installation of prestressed concrete tank covers and miscellaneous renovation and repairs to an existing above ground concrete sedimentation tank. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the Borough of Sellersville. Award of Contract, if a Contract is awarded, will be to the lowest responsible bidder, but the Owner reserves the unqualified right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price with a corporate surety approved by the Owner. The work in connection with this project constitutes a Public Works by a Public Body project. Bidders are advised that prevailing minimum wage rates, as set forth in the Contract Documents, must be paid to workmen employed on this project. In addition, the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, or disability. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed to Engineer Question Deadline 08/22/2023 The Work generally consists of, but is not limited to, the following 1. Water and bulk sediment in sedimentation tank will be removed by the Borough of East Greenville prior to Contractors work. 2. Contractor to remove aeration piping band distribution manifolds, existing handrails, and walkways from the tank. Cut supporting anchors flush to wall or floor. Includes any patching that may be required. 3. Remove and replace mud valve including stem extension and floor stand. Repair and level floor adjacent to valve. 4. Provide and install prestressed concrete tank covers and all associated appurtenances, per plan. 5. Repair spalls via chipping out all loose material. If reinforcing is exposed, clean of all rust and repair spalls in accordance with plan details and notes. 6. Remove existing door to pump room, modify opening provide and install new lintel, halflite door, door frame, threshold, weatherstripping, panic hardware, and lock. 7. Place concrete step inside pump room to transition from prestressed plank to existing pump room floor elevation. 8. Provide and install metal stairs and handrails for tank access including landing and footers. 9. Restoration of earth disturbances to grass areas and ruts it driveway resulting from construction activity
