Estimated construction cost: $6,500,000 Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, San Diego, responses to the Universitys prequalification documents for a CM/Contractor contract are sought from bidders for the following project: The University has determined that bidders who submit proposals on this project must be prequalified. Prequalified bidders will be required to have the following California contractor's license: B - GENERAL BUILDING CONTRACTOR This project consists of a 500 SF expansion and 12,200 SF remodel to an emergency department that will remain operational during the entire length of the project. Scope of work includes the following: Expand the emergency department Lobby under the existing entry canopy with a 500 SF addition for an Entry Lobby and Security Office. Remodel the Waiting Area to have a Check-In Station, a divided Waiting Room to provide two distinct areas to support a split-flow patient process, provide a dedicated BMT Waiting Area and construct a Donor Recognition Wall. Metal detectors will be installed at the entrance. Construct two (2) enlarged Triage Rooms and two (2) Trauma/Cardiac Exam Rooms. Remodel a 1,100SF Staff Wellness Center to provide a Nourishment Kitchen, Dining Area, Staff Toilets, Staff Wi-Fi Lounge and Donor Recognition Wall. Remodel remaining areas of the Emergency Department with new finishes at floors and walls. Construction phasing as required to minimize disruption to ongoing operations. Through a previous recruitment the selected Executive Architect for this project is Gensler & Associates. Estimated duration of project is 900 calendar days (450 Preconstruction Days + 450 Construction Days). No Prequalification Questionnaire will be received after4:00 P.M., THURSDAY, JUNE 22, 2023. However, the University reserves the right to request, receive, and evaluate supplemental information after the above time and date at its sole determination. All information submitted for prequalification evaluation will be considered official information acquired in confidence, and the University will maintain its confidentiality to the extent permitted by law. Response to the Prequalification Questionnaire must be submitted on the forms contained within the Prequalification Questionnaire available at the address above. The University reserves the right to reject any or all responses to Prequalification Questionnaires and any or all bids and to waive non-material irregularities in any response or proposal received. All information requested in these forms must be provided in order to be considered "responsive" to the requirements of the prequalification. For informational purposes: During Bidding a Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the Anticipated Contract Value shall accompany each bid. The surety issuing the bid shall be, on the bid deadline, an admitted surety insurer (as defined in the California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120). The successful prequalified CM/Contractor shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
