This fund will allow for the refurbishment/repair/replacement of park facilities and structures including playgrounds, buildings, trails, overlooks, picnic shelters, exhibits, fencing, piers, docks, stages, lighting, water lines, signage, monuments, and other park structures/amenities. Fiscal Year:2023-2027 As of October 26, 2023, per owner, no architect has been selected for the projects. Park Facilities is not a project per se but a pooled account for the repair/replacement of various City Parks and Recreation assets, some planned in advance and others as needed. Anticipated projects include but are not limited to: FY2023: Replace two (2) park picnic shelters, construct a new restroom facility at NN Park (adjacent to Group Shelters/Playground area). These projects have been pushed back due to projected cost overruns at with the Denbigh Pier and Deer Park Ranger Station. No architects on record. FY2024: Construct kayak launch facility, Hilton Pier deck replacement, replacement four park picnic shelters (NNP and Deer Park). FY 24 funding has just been made available, but appropriations will not be requested until November 2023. No architects on record. FY2025: Anderson Park playground replacement, Beechlake Park improvements and new playground, Harwood's Mill dock replacement. Funding is scheduled but not yet allocated or appropriated. No architects on record. FY2026: Shelter replacement (Deer Park), dam #1 deck replacement (Newport News Park), fence replacement within parks. Funding is scheduled but not yet allocated or appropriated. No architects on record. FY2027: Replace two shelters at Newport News Park, replace playgrounds at Deer Park and Teardrop Park, Deer Park trail improvements. Funding is scheduled but not yet allocated or appropriated. No architects on record. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
