The City of Middletown is soliciting, through this request for proposals (RFP), responses from qualified firms to conduct an inventory of public trees along the city's streets. Proposals shall meet the requirements set forth in this RFP. In addition, consultants shall be qualified and shall demonstrate experience in public tree inventories. all requests shall be submitted in writing to the Purchasing Department by the question deadline date of Thursday, October 3, 2024 by noon, EST to be considered. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The City of Middletown, CT, is soliciting responses from qualified firms to conduct an inventory of public trees along the city's streets. The purpose of this inventory is to identify the health, condition, and maintenance needs of existing trees and the location of stumps of previously existing street trees. Results of the tree inventory will be used to set objectives for the management of these public trees, including tree maintenance and planting, with the ultimate goals being to increase the diversity and overall health of the city's urban forest, address potential hazards, and prepare work plans and budgets for removal, planting, and pruning. The City of Middletown has a budget of $50,000.00 to complete the inventory of trees. As described in the proposal pages, the tree inventory has been broken into three (3) phases. The number of phase(s) awarded will be based on funding availability. The awarded contractor is to provide the tree inventory report no later than 45 days after the commencement of the contract award regardless of phases awarded. The City of Middletown reserves the right to waive any defect in any proposal and reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or any part thereof. Proposals, amendments to or withdrawals of proposals received after the time set for the receipt of proposals will not be considered.
