The Work consists of construction of approximately 3,320 linear feet of 36" wastewater interceptor, 1,100 linear feet of steel cased bore, connections to existing wastewater lines, manholes, demolition of pavement and curb-and-gutter, abandonment of existing water and wastewater lines, wastewater bypass pumping, erosion controls, traffic control, tree protection and all appurtenances. The project also includes the abandonment of the Springfield Lift Station after the new interceptor is placed into service. Performance and payment bonds when required shall be executed on forms furnished by OWNER. Each bond shall be issued in an amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Amount by a solvent corporate surety company authorized to do business in the State of Texas, and shall meet any other requirements established by law or by OWNER pursuant to applicable law. Contract Time is of the essence and all Work shall be substantially completed within four hundred and twenty (420) Calendar Days after date specified in the Notice to Proceed, in accordance with the Bid Form, Section 00300. Final completion shall be achieved within sixty (60) Calendar Days after substantial completion. Liquidated damages are one thousand and four hundred and ten dollars ($1,410.00) per Calendar Day for failure to substantially complete the work and five hundred dollars ($500.00) per Calendar Day for failure to achieve final completion within sixty (60) Calendar Working Days after substantial completion, in accordance with the Bid Form, Section 00300.
