If the bid is sent through the mail, or other delivery system, the sealed envelope shall be enclosed in a separate envelope marked with the notation "BID ENCLOSED" and addressed to Fortune M. Berg, Town Clerk at 2800 Ward Ave, La Crosse, Wl 54601. Bids will be awarded on October 1st, 2024. This job is in reference to asphalt only. All other work will be performed by the Town of Shelby. Paving is to be completed in one lift, for a total thickness of no less than 3", one spot 2". The asphalt layer is to be, MT 58-34S asphalt material and gradation 4 standard binder. The first road is Crestview Place. The second road is the back part of Hickory Lane. This curb is to be installed with paver. A curb is to dump into storm catch basins and one flume made by the Town. The total for Hickory Lane is 17,281 SF of asphalt. The total for Crestview Place total 1 634 SF of 2" asphalt and 3,493 SF of 3" asphalt. Sketch included. No proposal will be accepted unless accompanied by a certified check or bid bon equal to at least 5% of the amount bid, payable to the Owner as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within 15 days after the award of the contract. Vidder is required to deliver the original certified check or bid bond within 72 hours of the bid opening to the Town of Shelby, attention Fortune M. Berg, Town Clerk. The certified check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder as soon as the contract is signed, and if after 15 days the bidder fails to do so, the certified check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the Owner as liquidated damages. The Town of Shelby reserves the right to retain the deposits of the 2 lowest bidders for a period no to exceed 61 days after the date and time set for the opening of bids. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 61 Days after the date and time set for the opening of bids. Bidders will be required to provide performance and payment bonds of 100% of the bid amount. The owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject all bids.
