As of September 6, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on September 16, 2024. The work includes: Construction of a new water well # 10 including drilling, developing, and test pumping the well. Installation of the permanent pump is not included. The proposed well is located on N Hemlock Street, south of Oak Street. Each bid must be accompanied by cash, a certified check, bank draft, or a bid bond, duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Owner, in the amount of 5% of the bid. Such cash, checks or bid bonds will be returned to all except the three lowest bidders within three days after the opening of bids, and the remaining cash, checks or bid bonds will be returned promptly after the Owner and the accepted bidder have executed the contract, or, if no award has been made within 45 days after the date of opening of bids, upon demand of the bidder any time thereafter, so long as he/she had not been notified of the acceptance of his/her bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory performance-payment bond in the full amount of the bid or proposal. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of bids without the consent of the said Owner for a period of 45 days after the scheduled time of closing bids. The general prevailing rate of wages in the locality for each craft or type of worker or mechanic needed to execute the contract or perform such work, also the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work, as ascertained by the public body or by the Department of Labor shall be paid for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract or to perform such work. A copy of the most recent Illinois Department of Labor Prevailing Wages for McLean County available at the time the Bid Documents were prepared is included therein. The Bidder's attention is directed to the contract requirement that the work shall be commenced within ten (10) calendar days following written notice to the Contractor to proceed and shall be completed within 240 Days. The City of Le Roy, Illinois, reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any informalities in bidding.
