Demolition and Removal of Water Tower at 74th and Genoa Questions Due Date: Aug 1st 2024, 3:00 PM CDT Questions Online Portal A. The purpose of this project is to completely demolish and remove the Elevated Storage Tank located at 74th and Genoa. B. Major work items are: 1) Coordinate with city staff to ensure all utilities are shut off in an adequate manner and the tank is emptied prior to beginning demolition work. This includes the water lines off Genoa Ave. and utilities within the work site. 2) Removal of Elevated Storage Tank located at 74th and Genoa, as well as all other facilities and equipment on site and 4' below ground. 3) Removal of 4'x4' Concrete Piers down to a minimum of 4' below existing grade. 4) Electrical Conduit Removal including contacting companies in regard to their respective property. Do not remove Phone Company Equipment without approval from City Engineering staff. 5) Provide traffic control as needed along Genoa Avenue. 6) Repair streets, ditches and driveway approaches to prior conditions as required. C. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, and materials required for the complete construction of the work as shown on the drawings and specified herein. D. All work shall be performed in accordance with the most recent City of Lubbock Design Standards for Water and Sanitary Sewer construction. E. A maximum of 500 feet of trench open at a time. 1.4. Work shall also include restoration or replacement of all removed or damaged pavement, curb, sidewalk, gutter, shrubbery, fence, sod or other disturbed surfaces or structures in a condition equal to that before the work began to the satisfaction of the Engineer. Bidders are required, whether or not a payment or performance bond is required, to submit a cashier s or certified check issued by a bank satisfactory to the City of Lubbock, or a proposal bond from a reliable surety company, payable without recourse to the order of the City of Lubbock in an amount not less than 5% of the total amount of the proposal submitted The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond in accordance with Chapter 2253, Government Code, in the amount of 100% of the total contract price in the event that said contract price exceeds $100,000 and the successful bidder will be required to furnish a payment bond in accordance with Chapter 2253, Government Code, in the amount of 100% of the total contract price in the event that said contract price exceeds $50,000. The construction covered by the contract documents shall be substantially completed within 30 days from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed issued by the City of Lubbock to the successful bidder.
