The Salmon-Challis National Forest may issue a future for reconstructing the Wallace Lake Campground water system that was damaged during the 2022 Moose Fire on the Salmon-Cobalt Ranger District of the Salmon-Challis National Forest the spring of 2024. The current government estimate for reconstruction is approximately 3,500 ft of HDPE line, new storage tank, 6 new hydrants, and 2 daylight drains, along with other valve boxes as necessary. This is not a solicitation and in no way commits the Government to award a contract. The Government does not intend to award a contract(s) based solely on this site visit nor does it intend to pay for any costs incurred in response to this announcement. The intent of this notice is to ensure that prospective contractors may see the areas prior to snowfall obscuring the ground or preventing access prior to issuing the solicitation. This solicitation should be issued in March or April of 2024. The work anticipated under any contract resulting from the solicitation will be started around July 15, 2024. Please inform Steffan Wilcox, Civil Engineer, if you plan to attend by calling him at 406-596-2382 (or email steffan.wilcox@usda.gov) by noon of the day before the site visit. The function of the Forest Service site visit is to show the on-the-ground condition and location of the work areas, boundaries and other in-place markers, and the routes of travel that may be utilized in going to and from the work areas. ACCESS: Directional information may be obtained from Supervisor's Office at (208) 756-5100. Access to the site outside of the scheduled site visit may be behind gates or barricades, or snow due to seasonal closures or to protect public safety and must be viewed on the scheduled site visit, or "walk-in" may be required. Interested parties desiring to visit units on their own should coordinate travel with the Supervisor's Office. Maps will be available at the Supervisor's Office. Site Visits may be held in person, utilize TEAMS w/video of the site or pictures. Ensure all questions and answers are emailed to the contracting officer: matthew.sutton@usda.gov
