Contractors are retained by HOPA to complete specific construction projects or to complete routine maintenance. Projects: When a contractor is retained for a specific construction project, then the contractor shall be required to review HOPA`s Contractor Safety Manual and submit a SSHASP, proof of insurance and WSIB Clearance in advance of each project commencing. These documents shall be specific to the work being performed on the project, and shall not be transferable from project to project. Routine Maintenance: When a contractor is retained to complete routine maintenance work, then the contractor shall be required to review HOPA`s Contractor Safety Manual and submit a SSHASP, proof of insurance and WSIB Clearance on an annual basis. Emergency Work: In the event of an emergency, HOPA will use only contractors that have already completed the annual SSHASP where ever possible. If a contractor with specific skills, tools or equipment is required during an emergency, then HOPA's Executive Group may at its discretion, direct the Project Coordinator to forego the requirement to complete a SSHASP. If the SSHASP is not completed, then the contractor shall still provide WSIB Clearance, and an insurance certificate. The contractor will complete all work in compliance with all other portions of this program, as well as according to all applicable regulations.
