St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton requires a qualified General Contractor for interior renovation work in the Emergency Department (ED) to create space for a new CT Scanner along with supporting offices, patient areas, and waiting rooms. SJHH will undertake the demolition of the Emergency Department administrative back-of-house spaces located at 50 Charlton Avenue East, Hamilton. The demolished space will be finished to allow the install of a new CT Scanner by GE, and will entail associated modifications to existing electrical, mechanical, and structural systems. Experience in the installation of lead lining for radiation control is required to meet ministry guidelines. The spaces adjacent to the work area are active clinical and public spaces which must remain operational during the project. Plumbing work will take place in the ceiling space of level 0, along with slab reinforcement work above the morgue. Some of this work can occur afterhours and will need to be coordinated with the hospital to minimize disruption to daily operations. The building permit for this construction project was submitted on August 21, 2023. The anticipated start date for construction to commence is December 20, 2023. Work for this project is to be schedule ready by June 28, 2024 to allow GE to commence install of the CT Scanner. Work for the project is to be completed by July 31, 2024. Subject to St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton's reserved rights and privileges set out in this RFT, the Contract shall be awarded to the bidder that submitted the compliant Bid with the lowest Procurement Value.
