The overall scope of this project consists of the replacement of decorative street lighting system including controller, conductors, thirty-two (32) street lights, receptacles, conductors and all electrical connections in downtown Charlevoix. Project includes disconnecting and removal of thirty-two street lights, conductors, controller, and foundations. All appurtenances shall be removed from the existing street lights, stored, and installed on the new poles including planter hooks, banner arms, street signs, information plaques, and wifi antennas. All necessary site removals and restoration are included in the contract. You are invited to bid on a general construction contract. The Contract provides for the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to construct the Bridge Street Lighting Replacement Project (Phase 1). Project substantial completion date is May 24, 2024. The Successful Bidder will be required to coordinate all activities with scheduled downtown Charlevoix events. All questions are to be directed to John Griffith, Superintendent, Electric Department at 231-547-3273 Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond in the amount of not less than 10 percent of the total Bid Price must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Question Deadline 10/31/2023 Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all registered plan holders. Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. The Owner will furnish certain material as listed in the Project Manual to the Contractor. The Contractor will be required to pickup and transport all material which is supplied from the Owner's warehouse to the project site and assemble all loose components. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities therein, and all bidders must agree that such rejection shall be without liability on the part of the Buyer for any damage or claim brought by any bidder because of such rejections, nor shall the bidders seek any recourse of any kind against the Owner or Engineer because of such rejections. The filing of any bid in response to this invitation shall constitute an agreement of the bidder to these conditions.
