The Work shall include all design work, labor, material, tools, equipment, excavation, shoring, testing, inspection, commissioning and all necessary general conditions that may be reasonably inferred from the Contract Documents to provide all Design Work and Construction Work for: Converting approximately 24+ buildings of the campus buildings' heating source from steam to low Temperature Hot Water (LTHW). Scope of Work comprises of removing existing building steam-to-water heat exchangers and replacing them with water-to-water heat exchangers or direct connecting buildings. This project will be coordinated with the Hot Water Phase 2 Distribution Piping project and will convert buildings as the Campus Low Temperature Hot Water distribution system is completed and operational. The scope also includes hazardous materials abatement This project covers approximately 24+ buildings with some buildings having multiple heat exchanger systems. To expedite and minimize cut-over time, manufacturer fabricated heat exchangers skids may be used. The building steam heat exchanger will be replaced with LTHW-to-HHW/DHW/IHW heat exchanger skids. In some buildings, access is tight so that skids cannot be used. In these situations, replacement equipment will have to be field constructed. Proposal Security in the amount of 10% of the Lump Sum Base Proposal, excluding alternates, shall accompany each bid. The surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the bid deadline, an admitted surety insurer The successful proposer will be required to have the following California contractors license at the time of the proposal opening: General Engineering Contractor A or General Building Contractor B.
