**As of October 26, 2023 this project has not been awarded and no plan rebidding at this time** The Rutherford County Board of Education is soliciting bids for renovating the current apartment at Central Magnet School. Bid Requirements: 1. Bidder to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and services required to complete the work as described below. 2. General Contractors License as per TCA-62-6-101 et seq. 3. Bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid with the bid packet if the bid amount is over $25,000.00. 4. The bidder shall strictly follow the provisions of TCA 62-6-119. TCA 62-6-119 states that: Any person or entity involved in the preparation of the invitation to bid or comparable bid documents shall direct that the name, license number, expiration date thereof, and license classification of the contractors applying to bid for the prime contract and for the electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning contracts, appear on the outside of the envelope containing the bid except when the bid is in an amount less than twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000). When the bid is less than twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000), the name of the contractor only may appear on the outside of the envelope containing the bid, and upon opening the envelope, if such bid is in excess of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000), the same shall automatically be disqualified. Only one (1) contractor in each classification may be listed. Prime contractor bidders who are to perform the electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning must be so designated upon the outside of the envelope. Failure of any bidder to comply therewith shall void such bid and the envelope containing such bid shall not be opened or considered. It is the duty and responsibility of the awarding person or entity that received the envelope containing the bid to verify only the completeness of the required licensure information prior to the opening of the envelope. Prior to the opening of the envelope, the names of all contractors listed thereon shall be read aloud at the official bid opening incorporated into the bid. Prior to awarding a contract, the awarding person or entity and its authorized representatives shall verify the accuracy, correctness and completeness of the information required hereby. The failure of any bidder to comply with all of the provisions hereof shall automatically disqualify such bid. 5. Performance Bonds will be required for any work over $100,000.00 in the amount of 100% for the bond and will be the bidder's responsibility. 6. Complete and return the attached Affidavit for Drug-Free Workplace per T.C.A. 50-9-113. 7. Complete and return the attached Affidavit for Criminal Background Compliance per T.C.A. 49-5-413. 8. Proof of liability insurance in the amount of $1,000,000 will be required with the bid documents. 9. All sales tax or use tax required under this bid will be the bidder's responsibility. 10.Workers' compensation insurance as provided by the labor laws of the state of Tennessee. 11.Bidders are required to secure all permits, and fees necessary to complete the work. 12.It is the responsibility of the bidder to determine measurements and inspect conditions. 13.It is the responsibility of the bidder to provide the dumpster for the job site material cleanup. Bidder Scope of Work: o Replace paneling with 5/8 sheetrock. o Replace doors. o Replace/Repair ceiling. o Replace All cabinets. o Replace floors with LVT. o Paint Walls, Doors and Trim. o Replace Lighing, Switches and Receptacles. o Replace/Add Shower. o Remove Old Wall Base Heaters. o Demo Part of Wall Between Kitchen and Living Room. o Work area must be kept clean and safe for the duration of the project. o Contractor must supply their own construction dumpster. o Drawing is atached for reference. Bid Acceptance: The bidder proposes and agrees to contract with the RCBOE to furnish for the bid amount all necessary materials, equipment machinery, tools, apparatus, means of transportation and labor necessary to complete the construction of the work, with the definite understanding no money will be allowed for extra work.
