The Contract Documents cover implementation of the Basin Creek Fuels Reduction Phase III Project. The Basin Creek Watershed, which is located in the Highland Mountains south of the City of Butte and covers an area of approximately 12 square miles, was impacted by the pine beetle infestation beginning in the early 2000's which led to the death of tens of thousands of mature pine trees. The watershed has since become a disaster area of standing dead and fallen trees that are a dire threat to the future of the Basin. Creek Municipal Water Supply. All Bids must be accompanied by an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the aggregate of the Bid Proposed in the form of (a) lawful monies of the United States; (b) a cashier's check, certified check, bank money order or bank draft, in any case drawn and issued by a National Banking Association located in the State of Montana; (c) a bid bond or bonds executed by a surety corporation authorized to do business in the State of Montana. These securities will be forfeited to the Butte-Silver Bow Government as liquidated damages if the requirements in the way of contract are not entered into within fifteen (15) days after the date of award by the Council of Commissioners. Every request for interpretation shall be made in writing to: Jim Keenan, Public Works Department, 126 West Granite Street, Butte, Montana 59701, jkeenan@bsb.mt.gov Butte-Silver Bow Government reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive any informality in Bids received whenever rejection or waiver is in its interest.
