All necessary work, materials and every item of construction shall be in accordance with the plans and specifications approved by the Commission. The work generally includes the installation of 320 linear feet of 8 ductile iron pipe water line, installation of two (2) - 6 tapping sleeves and valves, cutting and capping an existing 6 water line, installation of two (2) - 12 butterfly valves, installation of a 2 blow off assembly, bank stabilization and sod restoration. Materials such as piping, valves, valve boxes, retaining glands, blow off assemblies, fittings and other items will be provided by The Springdale Water and Sewer Commission unless otherwise noted on the plans and specifications. Bidding security in the form of a bid bond, cash, a cashier s check, or certified check payable to the Springdale Water and Sewer Commission, in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the total bid, shall be furnished by each bidder. The amount of such deposit will be forfeited immediately to the Owner as an agreed amount of liquidated damages if the bidder to whom the contract is awarded failed to enter into contract and furnish bond within ten (10) days from and after the date the award is made. The Water and Sewer Commission reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in the proposal deemed to be in the best interests of the Commission. The Commission further reserves the right to withhold the awarding of the contract for a period not to exceed 60 days after the receipt of bids.
