It is the intent of the State Board for Technical & Comprehensive Education (SBTCE)/SC Technical College System to solicit offers from qualified vendors to establish a contract to install used maple flooring in the Denmark Technical College Gymnasium. The Denmark Technical College Gym Floor Replacement project will consist of preparing the surface, installing the athletic maple flooring system purchased by the college, complete with logo and all the game lines in the gymnasium as per the IFB and specifications listed herein. The Denmark Technical College gym floor is approximately 6,720 square feet. Contractors are responsible for obtaining exact room measurements. o Installation of flooring (supplied by the college) o All sub-floors and substrates must be clean and dry prior to installation. o Sweep or vacuum subfloor prior to installation ensuring nothing will interfere with the installation. o Sand high areas and fill low areas with a sanding machine. o Install used maple wood flooring according to manufacturer's specifications. o The contractor shall ensure that the floor is waterproofed and dampproofed o After hours or weekend work may be necessary to complete the project (no additional charge). o Contractor shall have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in commercial work. o Graphics and logos will be supplied by the appropriate college designee. o Paint for the school logo and graphic details will be supplied and/or selected by the appropriate college designee. o Install resilient rubber pads which shall be applied/adhered to the bottom of each panel. o The portable floor panels shall be assembled, repairs shall be made to damaged panels as needed to ensure that the panels are able to reconnect. o The floor shall be sealed with Bona Sport Poly Seal with screening between each coat. Apply all the necessary coats needed to achieve the necessary results for the paint graphics and game lines. o Apply as many coats necessary of oil based, Bona Sport Poly Seal finish with screening between coats. Additional coats of oil based finish may need to be applied over the entire floor after the proper installation to protect the graphics and logos. o Install ramps at the two (2) doors. The ramps shall be ADA complaint. The ramps may be pre-molded rubber ramps. The floors will need to be anchored into place to support the ramps to avoid separation over time. The floor system is 3" tall. o The contractor will be responsible for obtaining all necessary licensing, permits, and insurance.
