The City of Chester is soliciting sealed bids from qualified Contractors for Phase 2 of the Downtown Sidewalk Rehabilitation for +250LF of sidewalk along Main Street and +850LF of sidewalk along Gadsden Street downtown Chester, SC . The sidewalk rehabilitation will require the removal of select portions of the sidewalk, bricked walking surface and trees, along with the compacting and in some instances adding fill material to stabilize the soil underneath the walking surface. Bids Will Not Be Considered unless the bidder is legally qualified under the provisions of the South Carolina Contractor s Licensing Law (South Carolina Code of Laws as amended). All Work On The Project Must Be Completed within 60 Days. Bids Will Not Be Considered unless sealed and accompanied by a bidder s bond for five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. Bid bond will be duly executed by the bidder as principal & having as surety thereon a surety company licensed to do business in the State of South Carolina. Successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory performance & payment bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid. City of Chester reserves the right to increase or deduct the quantity associated with the project as deemed necessary.
