The Meriwether County Board of Commissioners shall accept proposals to remove and replace plumbing fixtures, piping, and sanitary sewer assessment in Meriwether County Jail. All questions concerning the Request for Proposal shall be addressed in writing to Theron Gay, Special Projects Director, at t.gay@meriwethercountyga.gov. This project includes scoping/videoing of the existing sanitary sewer lines within the jail complex and to connections at exterior sewer lines and a written report of the existing conditions provided to the County with recommendations for repair. b. Install Backflow preventer valve, pressure regulator and shutoff valve in valve boxes on customer side of water meter. c. Remove 36 existing porcelain/stainless steel toilets and sinks in 4 cell blocks, 6 isolation cells, and 2 booking cells and replace with stainless steel toilet/sink combo units with toilet paper holders in all cells and day rooms. Each cell block shall have (1) ADA stainless steel toilet and stainless-steel sink unit in 1 (one) ground level cell. One of the two booking cells shall have an ADA stainless steel toilet and stainless-steel sink. All stainless-steel units shall be Acorn Engineering Co, Bradley Corp. or equivalent. Replace 7 (seven) existing stainless-steel ligature-resistant flush mounted shower units with the new stainless-steel units. All stainless-steel units shall be Acorn Engineering Co., Bradley Corp. or equivalent. d. This proposal includes removing, replacing, and painting any concrete block walls necessary to install new fixtures. e. Replace all secondary water supply lines, mixing valves, and flush valves in plumbing chases from primary supply line to new toilet/sink/shower units. Replace sanitary sewer Ts'. f. Replace electrical outlet boxes and switch boxes with non-corrosive plastic boxes in all water chases. g. All existing stainless-steel units (old) shall be removed from the Jail facility and stockpiled in the fenced jail holding area behind the jail building. All existing porcelain toilets and sinks shall be removed from the Jail facility and disposed of by the contractor. All removed piping and material used in this project shall be removed from the facility and properly disposed of by contractor, except any copper or metal piping and materials removed, shall be stockpiled on premises as noted above. h. This contract shall commence upon notice to proceed and extend for a period of 90 days after the receipt of materials. i. List all principal and subcontractors who will be working on this project, including references and experience in similar type construction. j. Proposals will be opened and recorded immediately following the deadline for the submittal. The proposals will be reviewed, evaluated, and ranked by Meriwether County. k. The Proposer shall accept the project in its present condition and carry out all work in accordance with the requirements of the specifications as directed by the County. l. The Proposer, before submitting a Proposal, will be required to attend a Pre-proposal meeting and examine the scope and extent of the project. m. The Contract Documents contain the provisions required for the completion of the work to be performed pursuant to this Contract. Information obtained from an Officer, agent, or employee of Meriwether County or any other person shall not affect the risks or obligations assumed by the Contractor or relieve him from fulfilling any of the conditions of the Contract. Each Proposer is responsible for inspecting the site and for reading and being thoroughly familiar with the Contract Documents. The failure or omission of any Proposer to so familiarize himself shall in no way relieve any Proposer from any obligation in respect to his Proposal. n. Proposer understands that any site visit, inspection, or construction activities must be coordinated with the Meriwether County Sheriff's Office in advance.
