The City of Rochester is seeking quotes from qualified vendors to fabricate new bus stop signs for Rochester Public Transit, an enterprise of the City. All questions and requests for clarification of this RFQ must be submitted in writing or email by 9:00 a.m., July 21, 2023. Such correspondence shall only be made to the RFQ Administrator: Nick Lemmer, Communications Coordinator 4300 East River Rd NE Rochester, MN 55906 Email: nlemmer@rochestermn.gov Selected vendor selected contractor will procure the raw materials necessary and fabricate bus stop signs according to specification listed in Attachment A. Prepare and ship for delivery to Rochester, MN 55906. BASE MATERIALS AND FABRICATION o Aluminum sign panels shall be free from burrs and finished so that all sharp edges are removed. Panels should have no defects that detract from appearance or serviceability. o Sheet aluminum for sign panels shall meet the requirements of ASTM B 209M for Alloy 5052- H38 or Alloy 606 T6. o 0.080" thickness. o Size: 16" wide x 24" high. o Raw material surface treatment, both sign faces: conversion coated by phosphoric acid etch, alodine treatment or equivalent process. o 1-1/2" radius corners. o Fabricate with two square holes (11/32"), located as shown on artwork o Sign surface materials shall be trimmed neatly along edges and at bolt holes. OPTION 1: CUSTOM PRINTING FRONT FACE ONLY o 3M diamond-grade (DG3) reflective sheeting, white. Apply to the full surface of front face, free of bubbles and defects, contiguous with no splicing or patching allowed. Cleanly trim edges of sign. o 4-color screen print with 3M Transparent Inks: Custom formulated to match: PMS 3242C (light blue); PMS 7470C (turquoise); PMS 7487C (light green); PMS 7546C (dark turquoise) according to artwork provided by City of Rochester. o Apply 3M 1170 UV protective coating OPTION 2: CUSTOM PRINTING (SAME AS OPTION 1) FRONT + BACK FACE PRINTING o Completely paint the back face of the sign with non-reflective blue enamel coating with ultraviolet inhibitors. Custom match blue PMS 7546C. o Double screen print of white bus symbol as shown on artwork provided by Council.
