Remove and replace low-sloped roof areas, including associated flashings, and miscellaneous minor masonry repairs The scope of work is further detailed in the specification and includes, but not limited to John Winthrop Elementary School is a multiple-story elementary school with a low-sloped, gravel surfaced built-up roofing system reportedly installed in a "go-over" fashion (approximately 16,500 SF installed over the original built-up roofing system). Around the entire perimeter of the roof there exists a concrete cornice that is located approximately 4 feet below the roof line. The cornice configuration includes a 4-inch horizontal surface which will retain water and ice. Much of this concrete surface is cracked and the white coating material is failing. There also is one location where a sizeable chunk of concrete has completely fallen out. Numerous active leaks are reported. Roof replacement and repairs to be performed at the site.
