Outdoor Education Center Foundation Waterproofing - Landscape Each Contractor who intends to submit a Proposal in response to this RFP shall submit an Intent to Respond'' (Attachment A1) statement, via e-mail, to Mr. Josh Bowman, Director of Facilities at: jbomwan@battle-creek.k12.mi.us; by 10:00 am EST, Friday, July 21, 2023. An Intent to Respond MUST BE SUBMITTED in order to submit a bid. Your bid will not be considered if you do not submit an Intent to Respond before the required deadline. The deadline for submitting a RFI is Friday, July 21, 2023 at 10:00am. Excavation for Foundation Waterproofing i. Remove and salvage all large boulders for placement following backfill. ii. Remove all medium size stones and stockpile on site (approximately 3 wide x 150 linear feet) iii. Remove the existing concrete approach and all asphalt (approximately 15 x 30) adjacent to the main entrance to the Main Lodge. (See Attachment B3) 1. See Section C Line Item i. iv. Remove one existing concrete stoop approximately 4x 5 (See Attachment B4). v. Remove one large stump adjacent to the main entrance. vi. Remove (4) 4 downspouts and underground components associated. vii. Hand trench excavation around all water mains, electrical conduits, vents, and gas lines (All existing utilities are property of the district and care shall be taken when excavating near utilities) 1. Any and all damage to existing underground lines will be repaired by the contractor at the cost of the contractor. viii. Carefully excavate a trench for installation of the new waterproofing system. 1. Trench dimensions approximately 5x 8 x 150 Linear Feet (See Attachment B1) 2. Ensure excavation depths expose existing footings for waterproofing. 3. Stockpile all removed soils on site for backfilling ix. Install new 6 SDR drain lines and connectors for (4) downspouts to existing out lines. x. Backfill and compact 5 x 8 x 150 Linear Feet trench with removed soils. xi. Form, pour, and finish install new 4 x 5 concrete stoop adjacent to Cafeteria. 1. (See Attachment B4). xii. Grade and rake off the entire backfilled area. xiii. Place all salvaged boulders at the direction of the Director of Facilities.
