As of August 2, 2023, this project received no bids. It is unknown at this time if this project will re-bid. The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) is looking to replace the existing roof in our Valley office building, which is a two story Type B office building located at 6946 Van Nuys Blvd, Van Nuys, CA 91045 with a cool roof. This building was constructed in 1973 and has a square footage of 21,256. The roof measures approximately 16,832 SQFT with 10 sky-lights and 14 HVAC package units. Re-Roof Scope of Work: o Remove the existing roof system and replace the damaged decking where needed. o Remove all sky-lights on roof. Frame sky light opening and place decking. o Mechanically fasten 1/2 ' Dens deck Prime insulation cover board, tape all joints. o Torch apply SBS-modified torch base sheet, 120 mil - HPR Torch Base Sheet o Torch apply SBS-modified torch cap sheet, 135 mil - Stress ply o Torch apply SBS-modified flashing ply in all flashing areas -- HPR Torch Base Sheet - extending the flashing base ply 6" onto the roof field. Torch apply SBS-modified flashing cap sheet in all flashing areas -Stress ply- extending 9" onto the roof field. o All sheet metal to be ANSI SPRI ES-1 compliant. o Install new 22 gauge Kynar coping cap where existing. Wrap the material per manufacturer's coping cap detail at all parapet walls. o No pitch pockets on roof. Lead flash all penetrations. Install umbrella cover for all flashings. o Raise all curb heights to 8". o Remove all non-functioning equipment. o Install new vent covers. o Contractor to be responsible for any ponding water. Contractor to ensure positive drainage. The projected start date is within 10 days of successful bidder's contract execution. The projected time for completion is 90 calendar days. Where applicable, for each calendar day of delay in completion of the Work, HACLA reserves the right to impose liquidated damages in the sum of $500.00 per day. Each bidder must submit with its bid a bid guarantee equivalent to 5% of the bid price.1 The bid guarantee may be in the form of a certified check, bank draft, U.S. Government Bonds at par value, a bid bond secured by an acceptable surety company, or any other negotiable instrument acceptable to HACLA's Contracting Officer The Contractor awarded the Contract will be required to post a Payment Bond to secure payment of all claims, demands, stop notices, mechanics liens, or charges of Material Suppliers, mechanics, or laborers employed by Contractor or by any subcontractor or any person, firm, or entity eligible to file a stop notice with respect to the Work. If the Contractor will perform Work on an as-needed, ongoing basis, the amount of the payment bond required to be posted is 100% of the value of the first year of the Contract, as determined by HACLA. If this is a design-build project, the amount of the payment bond required to be posted is 100% of the value of the construction portion of the Work. Otherwise, the payment bond amount will be 100% of the Contract award. Contractor is responsible for all related bond costs; Contractor will not be reimbursed for any bond costs. The bond shall be issued by an admitted surety insurer. The Contractor awarded the Contract will be required to post a Performance bond as a guarantee of the faithful performance of the requirements of this Contract in the amount of not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract award.
