The County of Volusia is soliciting services for a single responsive Construction Manager at Risk to oversee the Deland Courthouse Life Safety Fire Damper Project. The objective of this project is to update the system of dampers associated with the fire protection control panel at the Volusia County Courthouse. Currently when a fire alarm is triggered at the Courthouse, the dampers shutdown. When the system is re-set, many of the dampers have to be opened manually. Rewiring of the electrical controls is needed. A multi-disciplinary approach is needed to coordinate the functioning of the dampers with the air-conditioning, electrical and fire protection systems. This will require a mixed effort of work being done during normal business hours as well as premium off hours.
