The new UV building includes two UV channels located in a new UV Room and electrical and instrumentation and controls located in an Electrical Room. The UV Building will be a pre-engineered metal building. The UV Disinfection System was procured through a separate contract identified within the bidding documents as the Early Work. This work consisted of the UV System Supplier (UVSS), or Seller, developing an equipment shop drawing submittal. That is attached to the contract documents as Appendix "A." This contract shall be assigned to the Installation Contractor through this Bid and the Installation Contractor will take on the overall improvements outlined in the Contract Documents, including the management and coordination with the UVSS. Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. The work on this project shall begin upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed and be substantially completed by March 1, 2024 and be fully completed by April 15, 2024. Ail questions about the meaning or intent of the bidding documents shall be submitted to the Engineer in writing. Question Deadline 07/04/2023 The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. However, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, readvertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the City. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor.
