Provide improvements to the Lakeside Center that will facilitate the building being repurposed from a rental facility to a recreational facility. Anticipated improvements include: - Enclosing the kitchen area and converting to storage - Updating the bathrooms - Providing specialized flooring for recreation activities - Installing a glass enclosure for separate recreation activities - Providing exercise equipment, tumbling pads, mats, etc - Painting of the interior walls With the new Senior Community Center opening in late 2021, there no longer is a need to use the Lakeside Center as a rental facility. So moving forward, the building could serve the public better as an indoor recreation facility, supporting programs that can be held in a space smaller than a gymnasium. Although dated, the basic structure of this building is in good condition. The parking lot is being overlaid in 2021. The project is included in the city's 2023-2027 capital improvement plan (CIP). As of December 22, 2022, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
