The work consists of the following: Work shall consist of material, labor and equipment to blast and recoat the interior and exterior of Black Bob #2 Water Standpipe Facility (14500 W 151 st St., Olathe, KS 66062). Work shall include precleaning, interior and exterior surface blasting and recoating, painting of two logos, temporary containment system, painting of metal parts and appurtenances, replacement of a roof steel manway, installation of a ladder fall arrest system, disinfection in accordance with AWWA, site clean-up related to the site being placed back into service, and an add alternate recoating of the interior of a single (1) access pilaster. This project will provide the City with a new interior coating in accordance with the guidelines in the Technical Specifications on the existing cylindrical steel water standpipe with a capacity of 4,850,750 gallons and dimensions of approximately 108-feet in height and 85-feet in diameter exclusive of the additional approximately 30-foot dome-like roof. Work must be scheduled outside the peak demand season from mid-May to October. Work must be completed between October 1st and May 15th to the extent that the standpipe is able to be put back into service for peak demand season. A stop-work will be issued during peak demand season where contract days will not be counted. A notice to proceed is tentatively scheduled to be issued October 1st , 2025. No additional compensation will be made due to spanning multiple painting seasons at fault of contractor.
