This project includes construction of roadway, bridge, traffic, and storm sewer improvements along 119th Street from Lone Elm Road to Sunset Drive. Roadway widening is included at the 119th Street and Lone Elm Road and the 119th Street and Iowa Street intersections, as well as storm sewer improvements, traffic signals, streetlights, sidewalks and ADA curb ramps, a commercial driveway, mill and overlay, fiber interconnect, and pavement marking and signing. At 119th Street and Woodland Road, pavement widening to both roadways and new medians will be constructed. Improvements also include storm sewer, traffic signals, streetlights, sidewalks and ADA curb ramps, residential driveways, landscape irrigation system, underdrains, retaining walls, mill and overlay, fiber interconnect, and pavement marking and signing. New roadway and bridges on 119th Street between Woodland Road and Northgate Street will include storm sewer, streetlights, sidewalks, ADA curb ramps, fiber interconnect, and pavement marking and signing. Bridge construction to include two new bridges, each 857 in length constructed with precast prestressed NU-shaped girders on concrete column piers supported by drilled shafts, and pile cap integral end bents. The east end bent is located immediately behind and MSE retaining wall. The bridges will span Mill Creek, Mill Creek Tributary M, the Gary L. Haller Trail, two swaths of BNSF RR R.O.W. and two existing active BNSF RR tracks. 119th Street and Northgate Street includes a new dual-lane roundabout with storm sewer, streetlights, sidewalks, ADA curb ramps, landscape irrigation system, underdrains, retaining walls, mill and overlay, fiber interconnect, and pavement marking and signing. Nelson Road will be realigned and constructed with a single-lane roundabout with storm sewer, streetlights, sidewalks, ADA curb ramps, and pavement marking and signing. The project also includes construction of approximately 800 feet of 30-inch water main between Woodland Road and Northgate Street in existing road right-of-way and existing water main easement. The new water main relocates the existing 30-inch transmission water main which serves the City of Olathe and is being relocated due to road and bridge construction through the area, connecting 119th Street from Woodland Road to Northgate Street. The project includes tie-ins to the existing water main and installation of butterfly valves at each tie-in. The City of Olathe, Kansas, reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality in the bidding. A satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder or an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid for work shall be submitted with each proposal. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay satisfactory performance and payment bond or bonds Contractor must be on the KDOT Pre-Qualified list for Category D - All Structures prior to bid close date. Bids without a qualified Contractor for bridge construction will be considered non-responsive. Anticipated Notice to Proceed is approximately December 2nd, 2024, contingent upon status of C&M Agreement with BNSF. Question Deadline 10/05/2024 Questions received less than three (3) days prior to the date for opening of bids will not be answered. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents shall be entered online.
