Limits of Insurance shall be $1,000,000 per occurrence $3,000,000 aggregate. Workmen's Compensation shall be in accordance with Connecticut Statutes. The selected bidder shall within 5 business days of the award provide proof of insurance. This project is being funded by the Town of Westbrook. The Town of Westbrook reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality in the bidding process. It shall be understood that the award made by the Town of Westbrook shall be final and inclusive and without recourse or appeal by the remaining bidders. Groin # 5 is 150.2 ft long and it is proposed to retain, maintain, and use all existing pilings including the brace pilings and the beacon piling. If during construction an existing piling is found to be unsuitable for reuse, it shall be replaced in accordance with the unit price provisions of this document. The contractor shall protect the existing pilings during construction and any damaged pilings shall be replaced at the contractor's expense, including the brace pilings and beacon piling. The first 31 ft of sheeting measured from the seawall shall remain in place and reused. The first 28.5 ft of the whaler on the east side shall remain in place and the first 18.5 ft of whaler on the west side shall remain in place. All other whalers and sheeting shall be removed and replaced. Groin # 6 is 149.9 ft long and shall be completely replaced. It is suggested that as portions and elements of the groin are removed, they be replaced to ensure that the groin is replaced in the same horizontal and vertical location. All material removed from the existing groins shall be properly disposed of at the contractor's expense. The undersigned agrees to prosecute said Work expeditiously and with adequate forces and an ample supply of materials to begin the work after October 1, 2020 and complete work on or before April 30, 2021.
