Complete Historical Digitization Project for Juneau-Douglas City Museum CBJ Purchasing Division of Finance is the sole point of contact for all matters pertaining to this procurement. No oral interpretations will be made. Submit any interpretation requests in writing, noting issuing Buyer and quote number. Request must be received a minimum of three (3) business days prior to the quote deadline via email to purchasing@juneau.gov Question Deadline 09/27/2024 The Juneau/Douglas City Museum seeks a responsible and responsive professional Contractor who regularly and routinely provides high quality digital preservation services. The awarded Contractor must possess sufficient technical expertise to provide high quality, color grading, scaling, assessment, and any other needed components of work to complete a digital preservation project for a historical 8mm Film Collection. The Project Administrator for this contract will be Beth Wiegel, Museum Director Juneau-Douglas City Museum, or upon notification, an alternative assigned designee. The City reserves the right to determine suitability of services offered and all quoted services are subject to approval by the City. Any services rejected due to non-conformity of the terms and conditions or specifications of this contract, whether held by the City or returned, will be at the Contractor's risk and expense. his project is funded by Alaska State Museum's Grant-In-Aid. Contractors should provide their best possible total project pricing. There is a limited budget for this work. If quotes received are over the total budgeted amount CBJ may ask to reduce the scope of work from the lowest quote received or the quote may be cancelled. This includes proper preservation handling of the reels, high quality, non-damaging scanning, color gradings, quality controls, archiving data inspections, 2k or 4k scans as the films allow, LTO -8 data tape preservation of the final product and shipping with proof of insurance in both directions. The thirty-six (36) reels are from an early Juneau family and are of early Juneau life, wildlife, and community events between the 1920s through 1949 when the family moved to Washington state. Timeline: The project is expected to be completed within ninety days or less, if possible. The final project deadline for this film digitization project is April 30th, 2025.
