********** THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ********** The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, located in Grand Prairie, Texas, intends to solicit for the provision of Elevator Maintenance and Repair Services for the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC), located at 71 West Van Buren Street, Chicago, IL 60605. The contract type is an indefinite delivery/requirements contract with firm-fixed unit prices. The contract period will consist of a base period from date of award through 12 months and 4 one-year option periods for renewal at the discretion of the government. The North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) code is 238290 Other Building Equipment Contractors (the size standard is $22 million). This solicitation is a small business set aside. The Contractor shall provide all management, supervision, labor, materials, supplies, repair parts, tools, instruments, and equipment to perform the duties specified in the Statement of Work (SOW), which will be available when the solicitation is issued. The contractor shall coordinate and ensure effective and economical completion of all work and services specified in this SOW. This SOW is a statement of the minimum level of work and services that are to be provided in certain areas. They are not intended to be, nor shall they be construed as limiting contractual requirements. At a minimum, the Contractor will be required to take all steps and measures which would be taken by a prudent building owner to maximize the life expectancy of the property and equipment. All elevator equipment in the building shall be maintained at an acceptable level throughout the duration of the contract. An "acceptable level" of maintenance is defined as the level of maintenance which will preserve the equipment in an unimpaired operating condition to promote maximum life expectancy of the equipment. The Contractor is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs as necessary on a 24 hour per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year basis including emergency call-back service. The contractor shall always have in its employ a sufficient number of capable and qualified employees to properly enable, adequately and safely manage, operate, and maintain the elevator system for MCC Chicago. The solicitation will be made available on or about September 26, 2024, and will be distributed solely through the website at www.sam.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will NOT be available. All future information concerning this acquisition, including solicitation and amendments, will be distributed solely through this website. The site provides downloading instructions.
