The City of Portsmouth is accepting bids from qualified contractors to serve on an on-call basis for Cave-In repairs for the city. The City of Portsmouth is accepting bids from qualified contractors to serve on an on-call basis for Cave-In repairs for the city. This solicitation is to establish a term pricing agreement for one (1) year with the option of four (4) additional renewal periods. The City of Portsmouth Department of Public Works will be repairing storm drain cave-ins and all related work for a period of one (1) year from the date of execution with option of four (4) additional one-year terms. The contract shall renew automatically, unless the city gives written notice, sixty (60) days in advance of the expiration for each of the renewal terms. The City of Portsmouth will call for said work on a job task basis. The City of Portsmouth invites bids for the repair/reconstruction of drainage pipes, drainage structures and all related work. The bid items shall include all incidentals, including, but not be limited to traffic control and the proper and legal disposal of all removed debris. Please note Section 109 for the list of additional incidental items to be included in bid items. This is NOT a requirements contract. The city is only required to pay for contractor's service, material, labor, supplies and equipment when the contractor renders such services (defined below) upon City's request. Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity shall mean that the City cannot predict the amount of cave-in repairs enumerated by the attached pay items that may be required by the City to be performed by the contractor during the term of the contract, and that the City does not guarantee the amount of cave-in repairs enumerated by the attached pay items to be performed, if any, or when such work shall take place. The Contractor shall furnish, when requested by the city, all materials, labor, supplies and equipment necessary to install these improvements in various locations throughout the City. A significant part of the intent of the contract is to require the contractor to provide professional, efficient and timely cave-in repairs enumerated by the attached pay items in a good workmanlike manner, free from any defects or encumbrances when requested by the City of Portsmouth. The Contractor shall perform all work in accordance with all applicable state, local and federal laws. 5 Construction services shall include, but not be limited to, the furnishing of all materials, labor, equipment, tools, excavation, bypass pumping, dewatering, right of way restoration, erosion and sediment control, traffic control, and all testing necessary to properly install the new improvements enumerated by the attached pay items. Contractor shall perform all work in accordance with all applicable state, local and federal laws. The City will decide on the specific method for each repair and/or installation. All cave-in repairs will include the right of way restoration, pavement patching, traffic control and other similar services directly related to this task. The contractor shall meet the minimum experience requirements for each type of repair enumerated by the attached pay items. Quantities of cave-in repairs enumerated by the attached pay items are only estimates and are provided to facilitate bid award. The agreement amount may differ from the bid amount.
