Syracuse City reserves the right to reject any, portions of, or all bids and to accept any bid that best serves its needs and is in the best interest of the city. Late bids will not be accepted. Syracuse City reserves the right to reject any, portions of, or all bids and to accept any bid that best serves its needs and is in the best interest of the city. Scope of Work Syracuse City desires to convert the area outlined in the exhibit from turf grass to a low-water landscape. This will include removal and disposal of 5,784 sf of sod (approximately 3" deep) and 4 tree stumps, provide and install 6" wide extruded landscape curbing (approximately 170 feet) along the west edge of the removed grass, provide and install 3 Bur Oak trees (approximately 35 feet apart) as an alternate solution to anticipated tree transplant, modify existing sprinkler system as shown in the Irrigation Plan exhibit including proper abandonment, extension of spray heads, and install sprinkler drip system for the 3 new trees, provide and install 20-year or better weed barrier fabric, install city-provided landscape boulders, provide and install decorative landscape rock (3" rock mulch), and cleanup. Landscape Fabric (Weed Barrier): Fabric will be required under the rock mulch. Contractor will provide and install landscape fabric designed to last at least 20 years. The method of installation shall be in a professional manner following industry standards. Bur Oak trees: These are anticipated to be transplanted in this project area by a separate contractor hired by the city before work on this project begins. If transplanting becomes too complicated, the city will request an alternate bid price with this proposal to provide and install 3 bur oak trees (approximately 1 1/2 " caliper). Estimate: 5,800 SF Landscape boulder rock: 12 boulder rocks of various sizes (approximately 3' to 5' feet diameter) provided by the city located about two miles away from the project site. Contractor will move the boulders to the site and install the boulders in groupings of two or three rocks. Drip Irrigation: The zones outlined in the project are currently spray irrigation. As part of this project, the entirety of one zone will be converted to a drip system, so no partial spray/drip modifications are needed. Contractor will provide and install the drip system by converting the zone to a drip valve, and utilizing an emitter style drip line (not perforated lines) based on the location and needs of the plantings.
