The city is proposing to reconstruct Manton Lane from N.W. Millitary to Lockhill Selma Road including a new culvert along Manton Lane just southwest of Lockhill Selma Road and reconstruct Carolwood Drive from Banyan Drive to Lockhill Selma Road with storm drain improvements along Carolwood Drive from Banyan Drive to a City of San Antonio property northeast of the Carolwood Drive and Lockhill Selma Road intersection. The storm drain improvements will tie into an existing system that ends at the intersection of Carolwood Drive and Banyan Drive. San Antonio Water System water and sewer improvements will be included with the project. For any questions regarding this solicitation, technical questions or additional information, please contact Bryan J. Spina, P.E, with Ardurra Group Inc., in writing via email, at bspina@ardurra.com until 4:00 p.m. on October 7, 2024. Answers to the questions will be posted to Online by 4:00 p.m. on October 9, 2024, or included as part of an addendum. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price. Any bid received after closing time will be rejected and returned unopened. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a one hundred percent (100%) Performance Bond and a one hundred percent (100%) Payment Bond. The City of Castle Hills reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to award the bid to the lowest responsible bidder or to the bidder who provides the best value to the City, and to waive any informality or technicality in the bid. 1. Description of Work Carolwood Dr.: The project includes the extension of the storm drain system and full-depth roadway reconstruction, with driveway and curb replacements along Carolwood Dr. from Banyan Dr. to Lockhill Selma Rd. The proposed work also includes connecting the storm drain to the existing City of San Antonio property on the north side of the Lockhill Selma Rd. intersection and grading out the City of San Antonio property to drain to the storm drain system. Additional right-of-way for the project is not anticipated. N. Manton Ln.: The project includes full-depth roadway reconstruction, driveway, and curb replacements along N. Manton Ln. from NW Military Hwy. to Lockhill Selma Rd. The proposed work also includes improving existing drainage conditions by installing five 5'x3' concrete boxes and additional drainage features along N. Manton Ln. Additional right-ofway for the project is not anticipated. Note that the culvert and drainage improvements are included under a separate cover. San Antonio Water System.: San Antonio Water System is joint bidding and joint constructing their water and sewer improvements required to adjust their water and sewer mains due to the storm drain and culvert improvements for Carolwood and N. Manton. These improvements include 10-inch sewer main replacement at Carolwood and LockhillSelma, manhole adjustments, and two 8-inch water main adjustments. Note that the San Antonio Water System water and sewer improvements are included under a separate cover.
