The Townsend Water Improvements - 2024 Project consists of two Schedules as follows: Schedule One o Install a new 16-inch PVC transmission that will run from the City's existing distribution system east along Highway 12 to connect near the new storage tank (Schedule 2). This portion of the project will include approximately 7,172 feet of 16-inch PVC transmission main, along with approximately 1,151 feet of 18-inch HDPE directional drilling. The transmission main will connect to the existing distribution system at the intersection of Broadway Street and Harrison Avenue. The transmission main construction will also include six (6) new fire hydrants and ten (10) new isolation valves. o Replace 43 outdated fire hydrants within the City's Distribution System. Each replacement will include a new tee, isolation valve, and fire hydrant. o Replace 37 existing valves to improve the City's ability to isolate sections of the distribution system for maintenance. Schedule Two o Construct a new 1.0-MG elevated composite tank located east of the Broadwater County Fairgrounds on a City-owned parcel of land. The site will also include 16" PVC piping to connect to the proposed transmission main (Schedule 1), a gravel access road, paved parking area around the tank stem, and perimeter fencing. o Upgrade the three existing wells (Well #1, Well #2, and Well #3). The improvements include the following: o Replace well buildings for Well #1 and Well #2. o Replace pumps in Well #1 and Well #2. o Replace interior piping at Well #1, Well #2, and Well #3. o Install backup generators at Well #1, Well #2, and Well #3. o Remove existing piping and install new 10-inch PVC piping to disconnect existing tank from water system. Work at the site is to commence within 10 calendar days after the written Notice to Proceed is issued. Completion of the Schedule One work is required within 240 calendar days following commencement of work. Completion of the Schedule Two work is required within 450 calendar days following commencement of work. The project includes liquidated damages that will be assessed as set forth in the Special Provisions per calendar day if the work is not complete within the allotted contract time. Question Deadline 10/04/2024 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed to the Engineer. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda emailed to all parties recorded by QuestCDN as having downloaded the Bidding Documents. Questionsreceived lessthan ten days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.
