The project generally consists of roadway excavation, hot mix asphalt pavement milling, furnishing and installation of dense graded aggregate base course, hot mix asphalt base course, and hot mix asphalt surface course, including sweeping, tack coating, and other pavement preparation and related work. The improvements also include the installation or removal and replacement of concrete curbs, A.D.A. accessible curb ramps, concrete sidewalks and driveway aprons, driveway restoration, storm drainage improvements, sanitary sewerage improvements, water main improvements and all other associated work and services in accordance with the contract documents. Work at additional locations may be ordered, if deemed necessary by the Mayor and Township Council. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or cash in the amount of not less than ten (10%) percent of the bid, but not more than $20,000.00, payable without any conditional endorsement as a guarantee that in case the contract is awarded to the Bidder, they will within ten (10) days thereafter execute such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond. Upon failure to do so they shall forfeit the deposit as liquidated damages and the acceptance of the bid will be contingent upon the fulfillment of this requirement by the Bidder. No interest shall be allowed upon any such certified check or cash. A bid bond in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the bid, but not more than $20,000.00, may be substituted for certified check or cash. No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening thereof. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a surety company bond in the full amount of the contract price indemnifying the Township of Aberdeen, New Jersey for all proceedings, suits or actions or any kind of description and conditional for the faithful performance of the work.
