Bids are being received for the following contracts: Erie Zoological Society - Various Construction Projects: Project A: Paving Restoration - milling and repaving Project B: Roof Replacement - new metal roof at the Rhino and Hoof Stock Building Project C: Fence Replacement - new 10' high chain link fencing Document notes: Copies of the Contract Documents will be available for inspection and review at the office of the Erie Zoological Society (9 am to 4 pm) and RMP during normal business hours. Addenda to the Contract Documents if any, will only be issued to those entities whose name and contact information are on record at the office of RMP as having obtained the Contract Documents A certified check or bank draft payable to Erie Zoological Society or a Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety company in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total bid shall be submitted with each bid. No bid or security may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the date of bid opening. In the event that the Bidder to whom the Notice of Intent to Award had been issued fails to begin work on the date stipulated in the Notice to Proceed, the bid security shall then be forfeited and become property of the Erie Zoological Society. Pursuant to the terms and conditions of the Contract Documents, the successful Bidder/Contractor shall furnish performance and payment bonds, each in the amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total Contract Price, and the successful Bidder/Contractor shall furnish certificates of insurance to demonstrate compliance with the minimum coverage as set forth in the Contract Documents. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as established by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry must be paid on this project, and the Contractor must insure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, creed, color or national origin. Attention is called to the fact that work performed under this Contract is subject to the requirements of Executive Oder 11245 as amended, regarding equal opportunities and as described within the Contract Documents. All contractors bidding on this project must utilize their best efforts to carry out and comply with the City of Erie's Minority Business Enterprise Policy as authorized by Executive Order 11625 and the Women Business Enterprise Policy as authorized by Executive Order 12138. Specifically, the successful contract must utilize to the greatest extent feasible minority and female subcontracts/business concerns and certify the same with the City's Labor Compliance Officer. In addition, the Offeror's or Bidder's attention is called to the goals and timetables for minority and female partition, expressed in percentage terms for the contractors' aggregate work force in each trade in all construction work in the covered area as follows: Minority participation 2.8% Female participation 6.9% Bids may be held by the Erie Zoological Society for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders prior to awarding the contract. The Erie Zoological Society reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any informalities in the bidding.
