The City of Richmond is accepting bids for general contracting services for the construction of two traffic signals to include, but not be limited to, the removal of existing traffic signal equipment; relocation of existing signal equipment; installation of traffic signal poles, foundations, mast arm poles, conduits, junction boxes, traffic signal heads, pedestrian signal indicator (countdown), signage, sidewalk, wheelchair ramps, pavement markings; and other traffic related equipment. The City of Richmond's Department of Public Works Transportation Engineering Division (TED) operates and maintains 480 traffic signalized intersections. The City of Richmond has secured funds to upgrade one signalized location with aging mast arm poles in failing condition and to install a new signalized intersection at Midlothian Tpke @ 32nd St. where a warrant analysis concluded that a signalized intersection is needed. The scope of work will include, but not be limited to, the removal of existing traffic signal equipment, relocation existing signal equipment, installation of traffic signal poles, conduits, junction boxes, traffic signal heads, pedestrian signal indicator (countdown), signage, sidewalk, wheelchair ramps, pavement markings, and other traffic related equipment. Project Closeout: Term utilized to describe certain collective project requirements, signifying completion of the work that is to be fulfilled to achieve contract completion in preparation for final payments to the respective parties. Quantities shown on the bid sheets shall not be construed to represent the amount of work to be done under this contract; they are to be used only for the purpose of evaluating bids. The Contractor shall be allowed to contact the CO in which to solely address administrative matters pertaining to the construction contract. The CO does not and will not answer any questions or direct any work related to the construction or any other associated efforts involving disputes pertaining to the design of the proposed systems. request for Interpretations Due:September 30, 2024, 5:00pm If any person contemplating submitting a bid for the proposed Work is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the proposed Contract Documents or discrepancies of any sort between existing conditions and proposed new Work, he must submit a written request for an interpretation to the Department of Procurement Services, 900 E. Broad Street Room 1104, Richmond, Virginia 23219. The person submitting the request shall be responsible for its prompt and actual delivery by Monday, September 30, 2024 5:00 pm.
