Berkeley County is seeking qualified contractors to furnish all the material, labor, and equipment to replace the discharge pipes that go will go through the wet well of Pump Station 001. DEADLINE FOR WRITTEN QUESTIONS: September 24, 2024, at 12:00 EST Online - Q&A SCOPE OF WORK 1. GENERAL: Contractors will furnish all material, labor, and equipment to replace the discharge Pipes that will go through the wet well of the pump station at Pump Station 001. 2. BYPASSING: - Peak flow of the pump station is 5.03 MGD. - The contractor will be responsible for installing plugs into the invert of the wells and the dividing wall between the two wet wells at the station so that one-half of the station can remain operational while the work is performed. - Clean the wet well as needed to perform the work. - Contractor shall be responsible for any additional bypassing needed. a. A bypass plan approved by BCWS is needed before work is started. 3. DEMOLITION: - Remove existing wet well discharge piping from the 90-degree elbows down to the top of the pump base. (The existing header will stay.) - Dispose of old piping and any other associated debris. 4. PIPING: - Verify sizing and measurements for all piping and accessories. - Increase the size of cored holes as needed in the wet well top so that the piping flange can fit through the core. (Make any repairs needed to wet well epoxy as needed in the areas worked.) - Supply and install new ductile pipes. (Including new 45-degree flange offsets at discharge elbows.) - Provide any additional pipe supports as needed. - Discharge pipes in wet well shall be epoxy coated per BCWS specifications. - Install new link seal for discharge pipes. - Paint the new portion of above-ground piping with BCWS-approved paint to match the existing header piping Offerors must clearly mark as "Confidential" each part of their offer which they consider to be proprietary information that could be exempt from disclosure under Section 30-4- 40, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976 as amended (Freedom of Information Act). If any part is designated as "confidential", there must be attached to that part an explanation of how this information fits within one or more categories listed in Section 30-4-40.
