Mill Pond Park Renovations project including power washing, court striping, tennis and pickleball nets, chain link fence, lighting and ancillary work This project is being financed, in part, with funds from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, "Open Space Lands Acquisition & Development" (OSLAD) grant program. The Village of West Salem encourages minority business firms to submit bids on the approved project. The Village of West Salem also encourages successful contract bidders to utilize minority businesses as subcontractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the Village of West Salem, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid shall be submitted with each bid. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the general prevailing rate of wages in West Salem for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract or perform such work shall be paid. Also, the general prevailing rate of wages for legal holiday and overtime work, as ascertained by the Illinois Department of Labor, shall be paid for each craft or type of worker to execute the contract or to perform the work. The prevailing rate of wages are set forth in the Contract Documents. The employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The Village of West Salem reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. A Substance Abuse Policy and certificate of insurance shall be submitted before a contract is signed. Bids may be held by the Village of West Salem for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding the Contract.
