Breitung Township Schools is accepting bid proposals for the upgrading of its fire alarm system, serving our Woodland Elementary School. The new fire alarm system must meet all current Federal, State and Local codes. This invitation is directed towards contractors specializing in the installation of fire alarm systems for commercial buildings. Design and install an addressable notification fire alarm system, which is compliant with all current codes and state requirements. The new fire alarm system will be installed separately from the existing system, allowing the existing system to provide fire protection for the 2024-2025 school year. The contractor awarded the bid must design a system and provide a State of Michigan-approved fire alarm system design. The plans shall require the use of rigid conduit for all fire alarm wiring in exposed areas. The conduit will be sized for future expansion of the system. The new fire alarm panel shall be mounted on the south wall of Woodland Elementary's receiving area near the boiler room doorway. A remote module shall be installed in the Woodland Elementary Principal's office for state required fire drill testing. Installation will start upon approval of the design by the state of Michigan and will proceed simultaneously with daily school activities. All work can be done during school hours. Breitung Township School District is tax-exempt from all State and Federal taxes. Licensing and Insurance: The contractor shall be licensed and insured to do business in the state of Michigan.
