The City of Isle of Palms is seeking bids from qualified general contractors for the construction of a 662' by 6' and 450' by 6' beach access boardwalks. A site visit to the Isle of Palms 26A and 36A beach access is recommended prior to submitting a bid. Question Deadline 09/13/2024 at 5:00 PM ET Bidders should send questions regarding this Request for Bids to Matt Simms, Zoning Administrator, in writing or email to msimms@iop.net. Questions received before this deadline will be answered via addendum posted on the City's website at electronically. A performance bond for 100% of the construction contract amount will be required. All work for additions shall be substantially completed (as evidenced by the date on the CERTIFICATE OF SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION) within: ONE-HUNDRED TWENTY (120) calendar days from the date set forth in the NOTICE TO PROCEED, subject to adjustments as provided in the Contract Documents. Final completion of all work shall be performed within: THIRTY (30) calendar days from the scheduled contract time for substantial completion, subject to adjustments as provided in the Contract Documents. The undersigned further agrees that from the compensation to be paid, the owner may retain as liquidated damages the sum of one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each calendar day the actual contract time for Substantial Completion for the project exceeds the specified or adjusted contract time for Substantial Completion as provided in the Contract Documents. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive irregularities. The Scope of work for the 26A beach access boardwalk includes, but is not limited to the following: 1. Regrade and compact surfaces to allow new improvements to match the elevations, as detailed on the attached plans, dated 07/31/2024 by Jody Furman. 2. Construction of a wooden boardwalk, including Ipe decking, measuring 662' by 6', including steps as detailed in the attached plans 3. Shift all existing signage to not conflict with the new improvements. The Scope of work for the 36A beach access boardwalk includes, but is not limited to the following: 1. Regrade and compact surfaces to allow new improvements to match the elevations, as detailed on the attached plans, dated 05/13/2024 by Jody Furman. 2. Construction of a wooden boardwalk, including Ipe decking, measuring 450' by 6' 3. Shift all existing signage to not conflict with the new improvements.
