Municipal solid waste (MSW) residential collection, disposal and recycling services for the Borough of Portland. Borough Council intends to award a three (3) year contract, with work beginning January 1, 2025, and ending December 31, 2027. Each proposal must be accompanied by either a cashier's check, certified check, or a bid bond, payable to the Borough of Portland, in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the bid amount. Said amount shall guarantee that in the event that the contract is awarded to a Bidder, the Bidder will execute the contract in good-faith. All bonds must be executed by a surety who is licensed to contract business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the surety must appear on the U.S. Treasury's most current list (Circular 570, as amended). The successful Bidder shall also be required to furnish proof of insurance in such form and in such amount as meets with the approval of the Borough of Portland, and a professional surety company bond, other form of security as approved by the Borough, or cash, guaranteeing the faithful performance of Contractor's obligations as per the Bid Documents. The performance bond, or other security, shall be in an amount equal to 50% of the amount of the contract, and may be reduced annually, except in the last year of the contract, the amount shall equal 100% of the remaining amount due on the contract. Question Deadline 09/12/2024 at 5:00 PM ET Final questions on the bid specifications are due no later than. The Borough reserves the right to reject any and all bids for any cause whatsoever, and to accept the Bid which is in the best interests of the Borough. The Borough reserves the right to eliminate any item or items from the contract and to waive any informalities, defects or irregularities in the bids.
