This project involves consists of general clearing, tree removal, preliminary grading, and stormwater management for Merchant Road Quarry (MRQ) Substation site; 505 LF of concrete encased electrical duct bank from MRQ Substation to electrical manholes; a new 138kV:12.47kV Substation including all structures, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, liquid-filled power transformers, switchgear, controls, pre-fabricated electrical building, security wall and fence, and all appurtenances at the MRQ Substation site; coordination with First Energy on connecting incoming service to the MRQ Substation Site; site preparation services at the Fourth Water Plant (future Home Road Water Plant (HRWP)) Site consisting of general clearing, tree removal, rock blasting, excavation, and removal, demolition of remaining surface and subsurface structures, dewatering, major stormwater rerouting, stormwater retention ponds and outlets, temporary security fencing for HRWP Site, SR 745 road entrance turn lanes into HRWP Site; and other such work as may be necessary to complete the contract, as set forth in this Invitation For Bid (IFB). Questions pertaining to the bidding process for this Invitation For Bid may be sent via email to DPUConstructionBids@columbus.gov. The email should reference the project (CIP) number and the project name. No phone calls will be accepted. Questions pertaining to the drawings and specifications must be submitted in writing only to Hazen and Sawyer, ATTN: Audrey Stallworth astallworth@hazenandsawyer.com and Molly Geissman mgeissman@hazenandsawyer.com via email prior to September 16, 2024 3:00PM Eastern Time. Additional pre bid meeting note: There shall be no parking on any Concord Township property. Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend and participate in the pre-bid conference and walk-through tours. Any potential bidders wishing to participate in the site walk-through tour shall have all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Bidders will be charged with knowing whatever was discussed in the pre-bid conference and site tours in preparing and submitting their bid. All work shall be substantially complete within 984 calendar days of the Notice to Proceed, with final completion to occur within 1,061 calendar days. The City anticipates issuing a Notice to proceed on or about February 3, 2025.
